Diwali is the busiest and happiest week of the year at Novis. Many of our regular guests have family in town, offices are closing for the long weekend, and our own team takes turns going home. Here is what we have planned.
The Jharokha Diwali menu
From Dhanteras until Bhai Dooj, Jharokha will serve a festive menu alongside the regular one. Highlights include:
- Paneer tikka with a pomegranate and mint chutney
- Dum ka murgh, slow-cooked in a sealed handi
- Bagara baingan and khatti dal for the Hyderabadi side of the table
- A dal makhani that simmers through the night
- Shahi tukda and a saffron phirni for dessert
On Diwali evening, the restaurant serves a set family dinner. Tables are limited, so please book ahead.
Mithai boxes from Chai & Co.
Our pastry kitchen makes kaju katli, badam barfi, motichoor laddoos and a dry-fruit box. Boxes come in three sizes. Offices ordering 25 boxes or more can add a printed card with their message. Please place orders at least three days before you need them.
Diwali evening on the lawn
On Diwali night, the Terrace Lawn will be lit with diyas and a large rangoli made by our housekeeping team, who take the job very seriously. In-house guests and diners are welcome to step out after dinner. We will have sparklers available, but no firecrackers, for everyone's safety and for the guests who are sleeping.
For guests staying with us
- Every room will get a box of sweets and a small electric diya at turndown on Diwali night.
- Late checkout until 2 pm on the day after Diwali, subject to availability. Ask at the desk.
- If you are a light sleeper, ask for the Garden Wing. It is quieter when the neighbourhood celebrates with crackers.
From all of us at Novis, a very happy Diwali to you and your family.
