The space

Kohinoor is a single, pillarless room on the ground floor of the Main Block, with its own entrance from the porch so wedding guests never walk through the lobby. The pre-function foyer outside takes a welcome drink or registration desk for 150, and the banquet kitchen is on the other side of the service corridor, so a 200-cover dinner comes out hot and in one go. Included with every booking: a 4 × 3 m stage, a projector with a 200-inch screen, two cordless and two lapel microphones, the house sound system, lighting dimmable in three zones, and an AV technician for the length of the event. The partition wall to Pichola Hall folds away, opening the two into one room for receptions of up to 600 standing.

Worth knowing

Amplified music indoors until 11:30 pm. Your own decorator is welcome; open flames, cold pyros and confetti cannons are not permitted indoors.

• Working Day Meeting₹2,450 per guestFor 15 guests or more, 8 am to 6 pm. Hire of the Golconda Boardroom or Pichola Hall, projector, screen and microphones, notepads and water. Welcome Irani chai with Osmania biscuits; mid-morning and afternoon tea with two snacks; a working lunch buffet at Jharokha or in the room — soup, salad, two vegetarian mains and one chicken, dal, dum biryani, rotis and one dessert.
• Classic Dinner₹1,650 per guest₹1,650 a guest vegetarian, ₹1,950 non-vegetarian; minimum 75 guests. Welcome drink; two vegetarian starters (non-veg adds Chicken 65 and murgh malai kebab); tomato shorba; paneer butter masala, mixed vegetable kurma, dal makhani and a chicken curry; veg or chicken dum biryani with mirchi ka salan; breads; a salad bar; double ka meetha and gulab jamun.
• Nizami Wedding Feast₹2,450 per guest₹2,450 a guest vegetarian, ₹2,950 non-vegetarian; minimum 150 guests. Four passed starters and a live tandoor counter; a chaat counter; kachche gosht ki biryani (subz biryani for veg) cooked on dum on site; mirchi ka salan, bagara baingan, nalli nihari or paneer khurchan, dal and rumali roti off the tawa; qubani ka meetha, double ka meetha and a kulfi counter. Includes a tasting for six.
• Sangeet Cocktail Evening₹2,200 per guest₹2,200 a guest vegetarian, ₹2,600 non-vegetarian, for a standing evening of three hours. Six passed small plates, a pani puri and chaat counter, a live pasta station, three mains with rice and breads, two desserts, and unlimited mocktails and soft drinks. Bar packages with beer, wine and spirits from ₹1,200 a guest, served by our own bar team.

Hire terms

Hire covers the space from four hours before your event for setup. An advance confirms the date; the balance is due seven days before the event, with the final guest count. We cater for the guaranteed number or the actual number on the day, whichever is higher. Cancellation more than 90 days before the event: the advance is refunded less ₹25,000. Between 90 and 30 days: the advance is kept. Within 30 days: 75% of the estimated bill is charged. Outside caterers are not permitted; outside decorators, photographers and DJs are welcome. Prices are before GST.
