A business traveller's guide to HITEC City

Most guests at Novis come to Hyderabad for work, and most of that work is within a few kilometres of the hotel. Here is the practical guide our front office team gives people who are new to this part of the city.

Getting in from the airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is about 35 km away. Using the Outer Ring Road, the drive usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. On weekday evenings, allow up to 90 minutes. We can arrange a car to meet you at arrivals; share your flight number when you book.

Moving around

  • Metro. HITEC City station on the Blue Line is a short drive from the hotel. It is the quickest way to reach Ameerpet or the older parts of the city during peak hours.
  • Cabs and autos. App cabs are easy to find. Ask the bell desk to call one rather than walking out to the main road.
  • Peak hours. Roads around the tech parks are slowest from 9 to 10.30 am and 6 to 8.30 pm. A 4 km trip can take half an hour.

The neighbourhoods you will hear about

HITEC City and Madhapur hold the older tech parks and many offices. Gachibowli and the Financial District are further west, with the newer campuses. Kondapur is mostly residential, with good restaurants. Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills are where many client dinners take place.

When meetings finish early

  • Durgam Cheruvu. The lake and its cable bridge are close by and are lit up in the evening. The walk along the edge takes about 40 minutes.
  • Shilparamam. A crafts village in Madhapur with handloom, pottery and regional food stalls. Good for gifts.
  • Golconda Fort. About 40 minutes by car. Go late in the afternoon and stay for the light.

Working from the hotel

Every room has a desk and fast Wi-Fi. Chai & Co. in the lobby is open early and late for informal meetings. For anything more formal, our boardroom and halls can be booked by the hour. Speak to the front desk.

Ask us anything when you arrive. The team at the desk lives in this part of the city and will tell you honestly which places are worth the drive.
